Every event is a professionally guided overlanding adventure. It is NOT a timed route, a race, testing of driver skills or a vehicle bragging rights competition, but rather a challenge of team spirit combined with outdoor adventure. On this trip you will apply good navigational skills and gain knowledge on local heritage, nature, fauna and flora, archaeological and cultural history, and many other interesting facets of the area.
UNESCO World Heritage Site Richtersveld Transfronteir Park - the event focusses on the rich biodiversity of the pristine and vast desert landscape, the unique fauna and flora, breath-taking views, and the fascinating cultures of the Nama-people of the Richtersveld WHS. The adventurous route takes participants from Noordoewer Vioolsdrif on to Keetmanshoop, Mesesourus fossil site, Giant’s Playground, Hobas Ais-Ais and the Fish River Canyon in Namibia, Ai-Ais Hot Springs, via the Sendelingsdrif ferry to the Richtersveld National Park in South Africa where we will camp for three nights including De Hoop campsite on the Gariep River, and the Richtersveld conservation area (WHS) visiting the Nama people of Kuboes and Eksteenfontein, finally ending near Springbok at a magnificent lodge with prizegiving dinner. This is a typical self-drive, self-sufficient overlanding trip in a 4x4 with high ground clearance. Note our route will take us through rough terrain, from wild camping with no ablutions to camping with good ablutions and last night luxury accommodation. The convoy is limited to a maximum of 10 guest vehicles. This is a “bucket-list” adventure!
